My background
when a passion becomes a job
id-6705f64bc4c17
I have a Masters degree in Business and Economics and a rich background in Human Resources and Leadership Development.
With over 20 years of experience in different sectors - ranging from consultancy to executive education to multinational corporation - I experienced first-hand how it is to be a leader in different contexts. I understand the type of challenges leaders typically face trying to balance the compelling requests of the executive teams, customers and markets, with the needs, competences and aspirations of their team members and, last but not least, their own!
From Consulting to Business School
I started my career as a Change Management/ Human Performance Consultant for one of the leading consultancy firms where I worked in Energy and Pharmaceutical companies. I worked mainly on projects aimed to design and sustain cultural, organisational and process change following large reorganisations and mergers.
I decided that the role of the consultant always on call and travelling up and around was not for me anymore when I wanted to be closer to home and build a family. It was then that I went to work as a Corporate Education Manager for the Business School of one of the most renowned universities in Italy. In this role, I was in charge of needs analysis and design of managerial training paths for executives and younger talents. I was also a Faculty Member for MBAs and Executive courses in the areas of Change Management, Organization and Process, Business Process Reengineering.
Into the Corporate world
After a few years of helping client companies to develop their leaders “from the outside”, I was eager to experiment first-hand how it was to live and implement leadership “from within” day by day. I found a great opportunity to join a multinational chemical company, where I worked for close to 10 years. I started out as Training Manager and later became an Organizational Development Manager, in charge of Organization, Training, Development and Recruiting for the Italian Headquarters and all its sites.
Of all activities and projects I was in charge of, those that I was most passionate about were related to designing and implementing leadership development programs. This drove me to start learning more about coaching, falling in love with it and deciding to become a coach myself.
Becoming an entrepreneur...when my passion became my job
After my family and I decided to seize the opportunity to come to Switzerland, I established my own company Ghezzi Coaching to pursue my dream to turn my passion for coaching into my job.
